I love Ch 7 vs.17-18 when Nephi shows the power of his faith by asking God to help him "burst the bands" and snap ! they broke. One time, a long time ago I had a friend who showed me the power of her faith. Do you remember Ginger Green who came to dinner at your house a few weeks ago ? Well, Ginger's older sister, Jane, went on a mission to Alaska. It was the most expensive mission in the Church at that time. Ginger's Dad was not a member of the Church, and would not help to pay for Jane's mission, so Ginger's Mom said she would do the family's part. She did not have a good job to do this, so she used her household budget as the source of that money. She made plain meals, and stretched the clothing expenses to help to do this. But, then her washing machine broke ! If she paid the money to fix the washer, there would not be enough money for Jane's mission that month. So, Sister Green prayed to the Lord to fix her washer ! And, snap, she turned it on, and it worked ! That happened several times while Jane was serving, and every time she used her faith, the Lord fixed the washer. But, when it broke AFTER Jane came home, it stayed broken !
