This blog is dedicated to thoughts and impressions from reading the Book of Mormon by the Jeff and Amy Day family and their extended family and friends. This year our family plans to read the Book of Mormon together. Family members are invited to share their thoughts, feelings, testimony, and experiences as they read.
My favorite verses in these two chapters is the same one ! Ch. 2 vs. 15 is one of the shortest scripx in the whole BofM. "And my father dwelt in a tent", but oh ! what a tent it was. It was not a little camping tent like we might sleep in, Alec. No ! It was a very large tent because Lehi was a very rich man, but he left it all behind to follow God's direction to him for his family.
ReplyDeleteAnd in Ch. 3 vs. 15 Nephi says that he and his brothers will not go back home "until we have accomplished the thing which the Lord hath commanded us." To me that means that when God gives us a responsibility we must keep at it until we have done it. God has given us all the responsibility to be missionaries, and I love the example Alec set for me in this when he took his new scriptures to school for show and tell. That was a brave and missionary thing to do. Wearing the CTR ring is another good example of being missionary minded that Alec can do. And me, too ! Grandma's can wear CTR rings, so I am going to buy myself one, and wear it !
